The Beirut Criminal Court, headed by Judge Bilal al-Danawi, issued a ruling acquitting artist Fadl Shaker and Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir due to insufficient evidence, in the case concerning the attempted murder of Hilal Hammoud, a member of the Resistance Brigades.
Following the ruling, artist Mohammad Fadl Shaker, son of artist Fadl Shaker, commented in his first statement, saying:
“Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds!
A ruling acquitting my father, Fadl Shaker, has been issued in the first case.
We have complete confidence in the Lebanese judiciary in its new era.
Relief is near, God willing.”
