More than forty days after the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom revealed new information about the operation, shedding light on the role of advanced technology in carrying it out.
According to the report, the Israeli army’s Military Intelligence Directorate managed a complex operation by forming a specialized team that included elite units, among them Unit 8200 and Unit 9900, in addition to research and operations divisions.
It noted that the team relied on a precise surveillance system that included tracking the phones of people close to Khamenei, as well as hacking internet-connected cameras inside Iran, enabling the collection of detailed data on his movements.
According to the newspaper, this information was fed into a "secret" artificial intelligence system tasked with analyzing movement patterns and predicting his possible locations, which helped identify the target with high precision.
