Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam met in Luxembourg with Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, where they discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region.
During the meeting, Frieden stressed that Lebanon, like the region as a whole, needs peace, emphasizing that what is required is not limited to a ceasefire, but goes beyond that to a sustainable and credible solution that preserves Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability.
The Luxembourg prime minister renewed his country’s support for Lebanon, noting that what unites Lebanon and Luxembourg is very important, especially since both countries, despite their small size, wield influence greater than their geographic area, which makes Luxembourg aware of the importance of commitment to international law and respect for the sovereignty of states.
For his part, Prime Minister Salam thanked Frieden for his political positions in support of Lebanon and for the humanitarian aid provided by Luxembourg, and extended an invitation to him to visit Lebanon.
