
Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar was briefed by the head of Airport Security, Brigadier General Staff Fadi Kfoury, on the status of the security measures in place at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport, as well as the procedures adopted to regulate inbound and outbound traffic and strengthen monitoring and inspections.
During the meeting, Brig. Gen. Kfoury outlined details of operations inside the airport premises and its surroundings, along with the security plans being implemented to keep pace with the movement of travelers and arrivals, in a way that ensures the smooth running of operations and the integrity of procedures.
Minister Al-Hajjar stressed the need to give top priority to airport security, باعتباره the country’s main air gateway and a front that reflects the image of the state domestically and abroad, directing that the level of readiness be raised and inspection and monitoring measures reinforced.
The meeting also addressed ongoing preparations related to the reactivation of President Rene Mouawad Airport in Qlayaat, and discussed the security measures that must be taken in the next phase to ensure the highest level of preparedness for any future operational developments.
