
The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Judge Mahmoud Makieh, offered condolences on the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani at the Qatari Embassy in Beirut, accompanied by Ambassador Claude Hajal, adviser to Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, Ambassador Farah Al-Khatib, director of Prime Minister Salam’s office, and Lahoud Lahoud, director of protocol and public relations at the General Directorate of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
The Secretary-General wrote in the condolence book:
"Faces may disappear, but their impact remains.
May Almighty God have mercy on His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who left in Lebanon and the world a mark—indeed, many marks—of الخير that will remain as testimony to the excellence of his giving and the nobility of his positions.
Heartfelt condolences to the State of Qatar, its leadership and people. Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return."
