
The city of Benghazi has launched the events of the “Chefs Challenge” as part of the “HORECA Libya” exhibition program, in what is considered one of the أبرز accompanying competitions of the exhibition in its first edition, amid notable local and international participation.
The challenge is being organized on the sidelines of events aimed at supporting Libya’s cooking and hospitality sector, creating a space for exchanging expertise and enhancing the skills of local chefs, in a way that contributes to developing this vital sector and raising its level of performance.
In this context, the official spokesperson for the “HORECA Libya” exhibition, Hanan Al-Majbari, told Sputnik that the exhibition “represents an important gateway for cooperation, opening investment horizons, and showcasing the opportunities of the Libyan market in the hospitality sector, as well as restaurants and various cafes.”
She explained that this edition is witnessing the participation of more than 100 local and international companies representing different brands, reflecting wide diversity in the offers and services provided.
For her part, chef Hanan Al-Alam, a member of the judging panel for the HORECA Chefs Challenge, said that “the competition will result in the selection of the winners of the top places, amid major challenges and innovative ideas aimed at highlighting the skills and creativity of chefs.”
Meanwhile, Egyptian chef and international judge Awad Mohamed, also a member of the judging panel, pointed out that “the committee is working to train participants and transfer expertise among them, whether before the competition begins or after it ends, with the aim of raising chefs’ efficiency and developing their professional skills.”
