Written by Middle East political analyst Danny Khairallah for Sahaftwatan Press:
What is happening today is no longer merely a military escalation; it has turned into a deep humanitarian and economic crisis threatening the stability of the region and beyond.
The fall of victims, the displacement of civilians, and the destruction of the foundations of life—all of this occurs amid international silence or incapacity, and a clear absence of the state’s role in reassuring its people and taking concrete measures to protect them.
Amid this scene, a painful truth emerges: those who fight may not fully understand why they fight, and those exposed to war pay with their lives simply because they cling to their land and their right to live with dignity.
Continuing along this path will lead only to further collapse, not only on the humanitarian level but also politically and economically, both regionally and internationally.
What is needed today is a responsible and courageous stance that puts an end to this bleeding and restores the value of human life above all other calculations.
Peoples can no longer bear being the fuel for conflicts that do not reflect them.
