Geagea calls on Berri to convene an urgent session: Pass the amnesty law and end the injustice

The following statement was issued by Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea:

We support the proposed amnesty law agreed upon by the majority of Sunni MPs who met yesterday in Parliament.

On this occasion, this has been our position since the very first moment the amnesty law was put forward, and to this day we do not know the reasons that prompted some MPs to cast doubt on this position of ours. But, in the end, the distortion fails and the full truth emerges.

Accordingly, we call on Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri to convene a session as soon as possible, with the proposed amnesty law agreed upon by the majority of Sunni MPs in Parliament heading its agenda, in order to uphold justice and lift a prolonged injustice that has lasted for years.
