The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed growing concern over the rapidly evolving developments in the Middle East, amid an intensifying wave of military strikes and expanding regional tensions, warning of serious repercussions that could impact both regional and global stability.
In an official statement, the ministry highlighted the economic and security dimensions of the ongoing escalation, particularly in strategic areas, stressing the importance of containing the crisis and returning to a political resolution.
It stated:
"The attack on Iran’s Anzali port has harmed the economic interests of Russia and other Caspian Sea countries"
"We are increasingly concerned about the expanding scope of Israeli and American missile strikes and bombings in Iran"
"We call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Middle East and the resumption of efforts to reach a political settlement"
"The U.S.-Israeli alliance is pouring oil on the fire of a war it has ignited in the Middle East, which will lead to its further spread"
Moscow concluded by emphasizing the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation, noting that continued military operations would further complicate the situation and open the door to more dangerous scenarios in the region.
