Salam-Turk meeting: Lebanon asks the United Nations to preserve evidence of violations and hold perpetrators accountable

Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Volker Türk, and his working team, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri. Prime Minister Salam welcomed his visit and commended the work being carried out by the team of experts tasked with preparing the report on violations related to international humanitarian law since October 2023.

Prime Minister Salam also expressed the government’s interest in the team continuing its work to collect and document evidence related to what may constitute war crimes, particularly by an impartial international body such as the United Nations.
