Aoun condemns attacks on Saudi Arabia and Jordan: Gulf security is an integral part of Arab national security

President General Joseph Aoun condemned the repeated attacks targeting the brotherly Arab Gulf states, the latest of which was the criminal attack on the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the targeting of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He said:

"We see in these hostile acts blatant attempts from multiple sources that target not only the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom and the other states concerned, but also seek systematically to undermine the stability of the Arab Gulf region and keep the entire region in a permanent state of tension and anxiety, in a manner that serves schemes that do not wish well for our Arab peoples. Proceeding from the close historical and fraternal ties that bind us to our brothers, we affirm today Lebanon’s broad and full solidarity—officially and popularly—with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, all the Arab Gulf states, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, considering that the security and stability of these countries are an integral part of Arab national security, and that any infringement on the sovereignty of our brothers is an infringement on Lebanon’s and the Arab world’s strategic depth.

We ask Almighty God to protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the brotherly Gulf states, and Jordan, and to perpetuate for them the blessings of security, safety, and prosperity."
