
The Consumer Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Trade said in its weekly report that, since the start of the war spanning from March 1 through April 10, it had carried out 2,520 field inspection visits, resulting in the issuance of 130 violation reports and the referral of 142 reports to the competent judiciary, in addition to responding to 176 complaints.
As for its performance since the beginning of the year through April 10, the directorate conducted 5,624 field inspection visits, recorded 276 violation reports, and referred 440 reports to the judiciary, while responding to 371 complaints.
For the week extending from April 6 to April 10, the directorate responded to 45 complaints and carried out 247 field inspections that resulted in 29 violation reports.
The directorate stressed that the intensification of inspection tours has continued since the beginning of the current war, following a circular issued by Minister of Economy and Trade Dr. Amer Al-Bisat on March 3, 2026, calling for stricter oversight.
It concluded by emphasizing that the Ministry of Economy’s inspectors are present across various regions, considering stronger oversight a fundamental pillar in combating exploitation and curbing inflation.
