
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed, during a joint press conference with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, his country’s readiness to engage in initiatives aimed at strengthening security and stability in Lebanon and the region, particularly after the end of the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Erdogan stressed that Turkey would continue its support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, confirming the continuation of Turkish backing for the Lebanese army and expressing Ankara’s readiness to participate in any force or security framework that would help consolidate stability in Lebanon.
The Turkish president also announced his country’s readiness to contribute to efforts to rebuild southern Lebanon, noting Ankara’s support for diplomatic tracks aimed at ending the Israeli occupation of Lebanese territory and enhancing regional stability.
