The South at the Heart of the Storm... Aoun and Berri Discuss the Most Dangerous Issues of the Current Phase in Baabda

President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun received Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri late this morning at Baabda Palace, where they reviewed the general situation domestically and regionally, as well as the situation in the south in light of the continuing Israeli attacks on southern villages and towns, particularly the blowing up and bulldozing of homes, and the need to put an end to these hostile practices.

President Aoun briefed Speaker Berri on the results of his visit to the United States and the talks he held with American officials, foremost among them U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Upon leaving the palace, Speaker Berri said the discussions addressed the President of the Republic’s visit to Washington and the situation in the south, adding that, as usual, he was pleased with the meeting.
