During the press conference with Erdogan, Aoun: Lebanon is committed to its sovereignty and to building a strong state defined by stability and peace

President Joseph Aoun affirmed that the path to peace and stability in Lebanon lies in establishing a strong state and capable, effective institutions, stressing that the Lebanese state is moving forward in restoring its full sovereignty and building a safe future for all Lebanese.

Aoun said, during the joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, that Lebanon does not compromise its national dignity and does not accept any unilateral interference in its internal or sovereign affairs, noting that Lebanese-Turkish relations have, since the founding of the two modern states, been based on mutual respect and cooperation.

The president stressed that wars have failed to break the will of the Lebanese people, affirming the determination to turn the page on conflicts and work to consolidate stability and internal peace through a strong state that fully carries out its role.
