Aoun sounds the cry of the moment from Baabda: The era of wars is over... and the bet is on a strong state

President Joseph Aoun affirmed that wars have never been a path to solutions, but have always been a source of destruction, poverty, and depletion for peoples and states, stressing the need to entrench the logic of stability and state-building.

President Aoun made his remarks during a meeting with Teachers Syndicate head Nehme Mahfoud, who led a delegation from the union, where he stressed that the language of conflict produces nothing but losses, while peace and stability remain the essential gateway to recovery.

For his part, Mahfoud called for turning the page on wars once and for all, stressing that the Lebanese have been exhausted by conflicts and aspire to the establishment of a strong state that holds sovereign decision-making power and ensures the protection of citizens through law and institutions, بعيدًا عن الانقسامات والنزاعات.

In another context, President Aoun chaired a financial and administrative meeting at Baabda Palace that included Finance Minister Yassine Jaber, Civil Service Council President Nisrine Machmouchi, Higher Customs Council head Brig. Gen. Misbah Khalil, and Customs Director-General Gracia Qazzi. The meeting reviewed a number of laws approved by Parliament in preparation for taking the appropriate position regarding their promulgation.

Aoun also discussed the conditions of the external transport sector during his meeting with a delegation from the Syndicate of Owners of Transit Trucks, headed by Ahmad al-Khair, who praised the President’s efforts to reactivate economic relations with Saudi Arabia and open the way for the movement of Lebanese transport and exports.

President Aoun listened to the sector’s demands and the difficulties facing drivers, affirming that he is following up on the issues raised with the relevant ministries, and stressing the importance of external transport as a key pillar of the economy and support for national production.
