
The Ministry of Agriculture continues, on the fourteenth day, to implement its national campaign to vaccinate cattle against foot-and-mouth disease, as part of a broad field plan covering various Lebanese regions, with the aim of strengthening prevention against epidemic diseases, protecting livestock wealth, and supporting the continuity of agricultural and animal production.
The ministry’s veterinary teams, in cooperation with veterinarians and regional agricultural departments, are continuing vaccination operations according to an organized program targeting farms and cattle breeders across the governorates, to ensure that vaccines reach the largest possible segment of herds.
According to the latest field data, the campaign has so far covered 1,596 farms, while the number of cattle vaccinated has reached 24,599 head, indicating continued progress in implementing the preventive plan launched by the ministry.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirmed that vaccination operations will continue during the next phase, calling on cattle breeders to cooperate with the specialized teams and adhere to the specified schedules, given their essential role in protecting herds, curbing the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, and preserving the safety of the livestock sector and food security in Lebanon.
