Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa affirmed that his country is adopting a clear policy aimed at avoiding involvement in any regional conflicts, amid rapidly escalating tensions across the Middle East, stressing Damascus’ commitment to maintaining balanced relations with all nations.
Speaking after performing Eid al-Fitr prayers at the People’s Palace in Damascus, Al-Sharaa described the current developments in the region as exceptional, noting that the Syrian leadership is approaching this phase with great caution and precision to shield the country from potential repercussions.
He explained that Syria, which has long been an arena for conflict, is now working to establish a new reality based on openness and constructive engagement with both regional and international actors, while maintaining full solidarity with Arab countries.
Al-Sharaa added that Syria has entered a new phase in its political approach, transitioning from being a stage affected by crises to an active contributor to stability, both domestically and regionally, emphasizing that this shift lays the groundwork for a more positive role in the coming period.
