Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune renewed his call to strengthen national unity and foster reconciliation, stressing that the door to returning home remains open to opponents, provided that political practice is based on civilized dialogue and the presentation of ideas and alternatives بعيداً عن التجاذبات.
During a meeting with members of the Algerian community in Germany, Tebboune underscored the importance of building a political space founded on responsible debate, considering that differences do not constitute an obstacle to serving the national interest so long as they adhere to the principles of respect and constructive action.
Observers believe that raising the issue of national reconciliation once again comes at a delicate regional and international moment, as Algeria seeks to reinforce its internal cohesion and consolidate its presence in political, security, and economic affairs.
In this context, academic Mohamed Selim Hammadi said the new call differs from the reconciliation initiative put forward in 2022, noting that Algeria today is acting from a position of greater prominence on the international stage after strengthening its diplomatic relations and role in energy and regional security issues.
He added that Tebboune’s proposal is not limited to a temporary political initiative, but rather reflects a vision based on the idea that Algeria’s strength stems from the unity of its internal front and its ability to confront challenges through broader national consensus.
