Fadi Abu Chacra, representative of fuel distributors, reassured the Lebanese that there is no gasoline crisis in the market, describing talk of the fuel disappearing or stations shutting down as inaccurate fears.
Abu Chacra explained that gasoline deliveries are continuing normally from companies that have stored quantities available, noting that some other companies are only waiting for procedures to be completed for unloading the cargoes of arriving tankers.
He stressed that the current delay is linked to the arrival of new shipments, expecting the tankers to unload their cargoes within the next 48 hours, which would help bolster stocks and meet market needs.
He also pointed out that a large number of stations are still operating as usual and that gasoline is available, urging people not to be swept up by rumors that could lead to unjustified congestion at stations.
