Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmed Al-Hajjar is closely monitoring investigations into suspected tampering during the distribution of diesel fuel at a relief center in the Bouarij area. He stressed the necessity of taking the strictest legal measures against all involved, warning against any manipulation of essential supplies and emphasizing that aid must reach displaced residents with full transparency and fairness.
In this context, Minister Al-Hajjar coordinated with Bekaa Governor Judge Kamal Abu Joudeh, who, upon receiving the information, contacted the Bekaa Public Prosecutor Judge Marcel Haddad, who issued directives to immediately open an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Following these instructions, the Shtoura Internal Security Forces, in cooperation with the Bekaa Investigation Unit, began field investigations, with preliminary findings indicating manipulation in the quantities of diesel delivered to the center. Several individuals linked to the case have been detained, while investigations continue to determine full responsibility, including verifying the diesel quality after samples were sent to a specialized laboratory.
The ministry confirmed that any violation will be met with strict and deterrent measures to ensure the protection of essential resources and full compliance with the law.
