Aoun and Trump to Meet Tomorrow... Beirut Presents Its Vision for Pilot Zones and Insists on Israeli Withdrawal

Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported that President Joseph Aoun is set to present, during his anticipated meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump tomorrow, a Lebanese approach to the mechanism for implementing the proposed “pilot zones,” one that differs from the Israeli proposal.

According to the report, Aoun will stress that any implementation of this track must begin with the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Lebanese areas it still occupies, rather than from areas where the Lebanese army is deployed, underscoring the priority of consolidating Lebanese sovereignty over the entire territory.
