The National Social Security Fund announced a series of disciplinary and legal measures against a number of employees and others implicated in a violations case within the Chekka office, following the conclusion of investigations that uncovered abuses linked to the processing of fictitious transactions and the disbursement of dues without adherence to established procedures and regulations.
The Fund’s Director General, Mohammad Karaki, stressed that protecting contributors’ funds is a top priority, emphasizing that the Fund’s money belongs to citizens and that there will be no leniency toward any attempt to tamper with it or squander it.
Karaki explained that the investigations conducted by the Administrative Inspection Directorate, in cooperation with the competent authorities, revealed violations involving the preparation of false forms and medical invoices through collusion between some employees and parties outside the Fund, which could constitute criminal acts related to fraud, forgery, and deception.
Based on the findings of the investigation, the Fund issued decisions referring a number of staff members to the disciplinary council, imposing disciplinary sanctions on others, suspending some employees from work, and terminating the contractual relationship with the treating physician and the pharmacy concerned in the case.
The Fund also referred the entire case to the Litigation Department to take legal action before the competent judiciary against all those involved, as well as anyone whom the investigation proves to be responsible as a principal offender, partner, or accomplice in these violations.
Karaki stressed that the Social Security administration will continue pursuing any abuse that affects contributors’ rights, affirming that the principle of accountability will apply to everyone whose involvement is proven, regardless of their position or status.
